The funeral of El Taiger this Saturday at the Church of San Lázaro in Miami was held with an open casket, a decision made by the family that puts an end to the speculations that have flooded social media since the death of the reggaeton artist on October 10.
After the private mass with the artist's closest friends and family, a ceremony was held with the body present, where the casket was opened and everyone who attended the church was allowed to pay their respects before the coffin, in which the singer's face was visible.
Outside the church, Teresa Padrón, manager of the deceased artist, addressed the people gathered there, asking them to behave appropriately and "to listen to the police."
Regarding the decision to leave the coffin open, he said to everyone present: "I didn't want them to see him in bad condition, but thank God the funeral home was able to reconstruct him quite well, and that's why it was allowed to be open. But that was a decision made by the family, let that be clear. They made that decision for their fans and their people. Please, the only thing I ask, out of respect for the church, is that you please don't create any troubles."
The journalist Leonel Allegues stated on his TikTok account: “The body of El Taiger can be seen in a coffin that has the initials LBMA, it is a gray coffin, he looks well-dressed, he also appears somewhat pale, that he has lost some weight, that is the impression I have (…) He has not been cremated, his body is there.”
Despite the security and protocols that were imposed to enter the church, prohibiting phones, photos, and videos, some people did not comply with these measures, which forced the police to expel them from the place.
Fans present at the funeral and internet users on social media criticized these actions, labeling them as a disrespect to their family and close friends.
