Funeral Services Today for Longtime Annandale Businessman, Volunteer, Elected Official, David “Dub” Ferrell
Funeral services are scheduled for today in Annandale for a lifelong Annandale resident, businessman and community volunteer.
David "Dub" Ferrell passed away June 3rd at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.
David was a 1955 graduate of Annandale High School. He and his brother worked for their father in their gravel pits, and later would own and operate Annandale Rock Products, Mid-Minnesota Hot Mix, and Mid-Minnesota Concrete, which are still owned and operated by the family.
First however, "Dub" earned a degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota. He and his wife, Judith, purchased the Dunton Funeral Home in Annandale, and would operate the company for some 20 years until its sale to the Dingmann family in 1980. He also was active in real estate with Ferrell Company.
Among his civic activities, "Dub" was a former member of the Annandale City Council and the Annandale School Board. He also was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Annandale, and a former member of the Annandale Lions.
Funeral services for David "Dub" Ferrell are scheduled for today at the Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church.
